修行最重要的就是「慈悲」兩個字。
人有了慈悲心，就會從封閉的世界裡走出來，只要推開那兩扇接通外界的大門，你就能看到整個美麗的世界。有了慈悲，這個世界就有了色彩、人生就有了動力與希望，生命中所有的善良與德行就會在我們生命中綻放出來。

慈悲，也是佛學的最核心本質，慈悲、道德、仁愛、甚至是博愛，都是大家所追求的，因為慈悲可以平衡，人類內心的那些貪嗔癡慢疑。這也是世界幾大宗教能夠支撐著人們去信仰，和追求的那個根本和精彩的地方。

What is the purpose of learning Buddhadharma?

The most important element in self-cultivation is to have 'compassion'

Those that posses a compassionate heart would be able to step out beyond their own confines and see the true beauty of this world. Having compassion would enable you to view the world with more love, energy and hope. Goodness and morality would also bloom in our lives.

Compassion is also the core of Buddhism, as is morality, fraternity and love. Compassion will balance out the greed, hatred, ignorance, arrogance and doubts in our minds. This is also one of the world's greatest religions that could support people in their faith and the pursuit of life fundamental values.

In order to free all sentient beings from pain and suffering, and live in joy and happiness, Sakyamuni Buddha taught us the most precious way of practice: to view and treat the world with great compassion; one compassionate thought can eliminate the calamities of hundreds of lives.

Chanting to Sakyamuni Buddha can free us from adversities and help us obtain health and auspiciousness. With reverence, I recorded the Chanting to Sakyamuni Buddha. May we chant and praise the Buddha together.

【立夏】
──立夏繩，佑平安

2017年5月5日是今年夏季的第一個節氣——立夏。在時節上，萬物至此皆長大，故名立夏。
.
立夏節有一個重要的習俗——「立夏繩」，是將五色絲線繫於小孩手腕等處，稱為「長命縷」，以祈願孩子消災去病、健康平安。我們菩提禪堂也有殊勝吉祥能量的五彩繩，持有者可將五彩繩做為項鍊繩或者手繩，搭配專門加持過的天珠使用；也可將其懸掛在車裡或者家裡大門的門楣處，亦或將五彩繩編織後掛在背包上；而對於生命的延續者——新生兒來說，則要將五彩繩繫在孩子的手腕或者腳腕處，凡此種種，皆可護佑家人出入平安，吉祥順意。

Beginning of Summer
Summer thread, Protects the wearers.

5th of May, 2017 --First day of Summer. This solar term is a time of myriad growth hence is termed "The commencement of Summer".

The Summer festival has an important tradition--(Summer strings), to tie a thread made up of 5 colored strings around the wrist of children, termed "Longevity thread". It can help to eliminate calamities and illnesses of children , keep them healthy and safe. Bodhi Meditation also has our own 5 colored thread. Wearers can choose to wear them around their neck or wrist and even wear them with Dzi beads. Five coloured thread can also be hung in cars, latches of house doors or tied to bags.

Five coloured threads can be tied to wrists and ankles of new born babies. These threads serve to bless the entire family with safety and auspiciousness.

東方四大遺跡之一

印尼是一個美麗的「千島之國」，去年的3月，我們的菩提禪堂在印尼落地生根了。
.
熱情的同修也向我分享了當地世界最大的古老佛塔——婆羅浮屠塔，我覺得挺不錯的，今天也發來跟網友們一起欣賞佛塔之美。

【婆羅浮屠塔】
婆羅浮屠塔，位於爪哇島中部，悠久的歷史、秀麗的建築、宏大的規模，使其和埃及的金字塔、柬埔寨的吳哥窟、中國的長城同為東方四大遺跡。

它建於西元八至九世紀，整個建築分為三大層，呈金字塔狀，由160多萬塊石頭築成。基座是五個角錐體的同心方臺；中間為三個圓錐體的環形平臺；頂端為佛塔。在每層週邊的迴廊上刻滿了浮雕，總面積達2500平方米。

迴廊浮雕是依佛教中之「欲界」、「色界」、「無色界」的觀念來展現。底層，是較為生活化的場景；往上第一層則是描述釋迦牟尼佛的誕生與生平故事；接著幾層則是佛經中的一些情節。
.
由下走到中層，結構從方形變成了三層圓形的臺階，上有72座透雕成孔鐘形的佛塔，內有佛龕，在每個佛龕內都有供奉一尊佛像。最上層，則是眾星拱月般簇擁著的是──象徵慈悲的佛陀的大佛塔。
.
從底層沿迴廊拾級而上，讓人心生出從塵世走向極樂世界的路程，清淨、美好。

Borobudur - One of Four Major Historical Remains of the East

Indonesia is a beautiful country made up of thousands of islands. In March 2016, Bodhi Meditation established its main meditation centre in Indonesia.

Enthusiastic fellow practitioners introduced the largest ancient temple locally – the Borobudur. I found it magnificent too, and would like to share its splendor with netizens here.

Borobudur
Located in Central Java, Borobudur is steeped in history. It is a majestic architecture of a grand scale, making it one of the four great historical remains of the East, alongside the pyramids of Egypt, Angkor Wat of Cambodia, and the Great Wall of China.

The Borobudur was built in the eighth-to-ninth century. The superstructure comprised of three stratums forming a pyramid, and was constructed with more than 1.6 million chunks of stone. A harmonious 5-tier stratum of squares forms its base, ascending to three circular platforms in the middle stratum, and the top stratum is reserved for the Buddha. Along the aisles of every stratums and tiers lay dotted intricate Buddhist artifacts spanning a total 2,500 square meters.

The stratums symbolize the three domains in Buddhism, namely the world of desires, the world of forms, and the world of formless. The base stratum depicts the samsaric lives of ordinary sentient beings. The middle stratum articulates the birth of and life story of Lord Shakyamuni Buddha. The highest level relates to the chronicles in Buddhist scriptures.

As one ascends the base to the three circular platforms in the middle stratum, one is surrounded by 72 stupas, with a statue of the Buddha seated inside each of them. At the pinnacle lay, in full splendor across the entire cosmos – the Buddha - the bearing of perfect compassion and wisdom.

Venturing the aisle and taking in the awe-inspiring sights, one relishes the ascension from the mundane to the pure and auspicious heavenly realm!
